Just like plants, cyanobacteria can produce energy from sunlight via a process called photosynthesis.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spirulina was\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">consumed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC9143897\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) by the ancient Aztecs but became popular again when NASA proposed that it could be grown in space for use by astronauts.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These days, people use spirulina to boost the levels of nutrients and antioxidants in their bodies, and it may help protect against various diseases. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are 10 evidence-based health uses and benefits of spirulina.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b> Rich in Many Nutrients<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spirulina is packed with nutrients.
